Writing PID Control Loops as Ladder Logic with Adaptive Control.
Presentation Description: PID (Proportional, Integral, Derivative) is a very common control loop and often is easily applied in industrial automation. In some processes, standard PID control involves performance compromising or manual intervention for different load conditions and setpoints. These performance issues can occur in processes in which the ratio of the change of the process variable to the change in output are not constant throughout all operations. In these cases, adaptive control can be applied to improve performance. During the presentation, an description of PID math and operation is to be presented in ladder logic. This will provide a new view on understanding the proportion, integral and derivative terms and provide the foundation to writing custom proportion adaptive control logic.
About the Speaker: Dennis Rentschler, Automation Engineer Dennis has over 25 years experience in automation and control loops. He has applied adaptive control to improve the performances in operations in difficult pH and temperature control.
